Ataxo at Google Day 2007

The Google Day 2007 took place on May 17, 2007 in the Hilton Hotel in Warsaw, and we were there.
More than 400 people attended the conference, all of them were invited guests, Polish SEM and SEO specialists, and firms using search engine advertising to promote their products.
The event began with a surprise – every attendee got a pair of drumsticks and a ball and the conference started by everybody drumming. We definitely did not expect such a warm-up. The session was then opened by Artur Waliszewski, the director of Google in Poland.
Next, there were several famous names on the program: Google’s Nikesh Arora, David Thacker, Eric Feron and Sean Cornwell. They spoke about the Internet’s impact on European business, and updated us on AdWords and AdSenseand on Google’s new products.
After lunch, there were workshops focusing on specifics topics, such as sources of web traffic, “mash-ups”, monitoring and optimizing web sites’ performance (using Google Analytics and Website Optimizer), managing and extending a campaign, ROI (return on investment) measuring methods, cooperating with agencies in AdWords campaigns, user behavior in online banking, direct banking in Europe, and others.
The participants had then chance to talk to the speakers after the workshops. And the discussions in the corridors were as interesting as the presentations. We got to speak to people we had known only from email correspondence or online magazines. Artur Waliszewski, David Thacker, Timo Aden and Robert Adach were among them.
This conference was certainly time well spent.
